Please note that Ragging is prohibited as per Act 26 of A.P Legislative Assembly, 1997., ragging is a criminal offence and punishable with one year imprisonment. The Supreme Court of India has also defined ragging as a criminal offence.
All students admitted to the University colleges of Engineering and their parents are hereby informed to go through the guidelines on anti ragging:
It is mandatory to fill in an Anti Ragging Undertaking online ,please visit
1.Abetment /instigation to ragging /criminal conspiracy to rag.
2.Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging
3.Public nuisance created during ragging, or violation of decency and morals.
4.Injury to body, causing hurt /mental trauma.
5.Wrongful restraint, confinement.
6.Use of criminal force /assault /sexual offences /unnatural offences.
7.Extortion /criminal trespassing or intimidation /offences against property.
8.Attempt to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences against the victim.
9.Physical or psychological humiliation.
10.Any act /abuse by spoken words, e-mails, snail mails, blogs, public insults etc.
11.Any act that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of a student.
Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Anti-ragging Committee of the institution, the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging at the institution level shall be any one or any combination of the following :
1.Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
2.Withholding /withdrawing scholarship.
3.Debarring from appearing in any test/examination.
4.Withholding of results.
5.Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
6.Cancellation of admission
7.Rustication from the institution.
