The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 2009 with the launch of the CSE program, followed by the introduction of the Information Technology (IT) program in 2013. Currently, the department offers three undergraduate programs—Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, and Data Science—along with a postgraduate program in CSE and PhD programs in related fields. The department features state-of-the-art infrastructure including advanced computing facilities, fully equipped laboratories, air-conditioned seminar halls, well-ventilated classrooms, and a well-stocked library.
Since its inception, the department has attracted top-ranking students through entrance exams like EAMCET and ECET. Its reputation for academic excellence is the result of dedicated efforts from the administration, faculty, and students. The college also admits international students into its Master's and PhD engineering programs. In addition to the academic curriculum, the department emphasizes value-added programs tailored to industry needs, as well as personality development and communication skills enhancement.
Students frequently engage in academic projects at prestigious institutions such as DLRL, DMRL, DRDL, ISRO, BEL RCI, CDAC, and ECIL. The department also organizes campus placement drives with leading multinational companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. To enhance placement outcomes, students participate in hackathons, code debugging contests, and TASK programs. Many students excel in competitive exams like GATE, CAT, PGECET, and TSPSC, with 20% to 40% pursuing higher education abroad annually.
In addition to academics, the department fosters a vibrant student community through various extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including NSS, NCC, Freshers’ Day, student fests, Sports Day, and Annual Day celebrations, ensuring holistic student development.
